Russian prosecutors have requested life sentences for 15 out of 19 defendants in the Crocus City Hall case. This was reported by lawyer Lyudmila Aivar to RBC on February 16.
They face charges under several articles of the Criminal Code, including committing a terrorist act. The minimum punishment demanded by the prosecution is 19 years of imprisonment, according to the Moscow news agency.
According to the investigation's version, the attack on Crocus City Hall was organized by the terrorist group "Vilayat Khorasan," part of the Islamic State structure. Investigators also claim that foreign intelligence services may have been involved in the preparation, and the terrorist act was allegedly organized "in the interests of Ukraine's top leadership." The organizers of the crime have not yet been identified.
More than two thousand people have been recognized as victims in the case. The trial is ongoing.
