Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The State Security Service (SSS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has disrupted channels of illegal trafficking of large batches of drugs imported from Afghanistan. During special operations in the Khorezm region, nearly 9 kilograms of opium were seized.
In the first case, in the Urgench district, a 41-year-old resident of the Kushkupir district, previously convicted for drug trafficking, was detained. During an inspection, 4 kilograms and 407 grams of opium were found on him.
In the second case, at the "Cholish" traffic police post, a Lacetti car was stopped, containing a 24-year-old resident of the same district, also with a prior conviction for a similar crime. From him, 4 kilograms and 541 grams of narcotic substances were confiscated.
The investigation established that the drugs were smuggled from neighboring Afghanistan for further distribution in the Khorezm region. Currently, all individuals involved in organizing the smuggling channel from the neighboring country are being identified. Investigative actions are being conducted based on these facts.
