A meeting of the CIS working group on economic monitoring was held in Moscow, with special attention given to Uzbekistan's proposals for strengthening coordination among member states.
According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the event took place on Monday, May 25, with representatives from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus, as well as relevant Commonwealth structures, in attendance.
The meeting was the second in the implementation of an initiative put forward by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the CIS summit in October 2025. The initiative aims to create mechanisms for rapid response to changes in the foreign economic environment and reorientation of trade flows.
During the discussions, experts reviewed a draft decision of the CIS Economic Council, which provides for expanding cooperation in industry and agriculture, introducing artificial intelligence technologies, developing innovations, and improving statistical cooperation.
Following the meeting, the CIS Executive Committee was instructed to finalize the document and send it to the governments of member states for further consideration at the level of the Commonwealth's highest bodies.
Earlier, the 60th plenary meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member States was held in St. Petersburg, with the Year of Health Protection in the Commonwealth space being one of the main topics.
