The Russian government has imposed a temporary ban on the export of fuel for jet engines. The restriction will be in effect until November 30, 2026, according to a government decree dated May 30.
The ban also covers aviation fuel purchased on exchange trading. The stated goal of the decision is to ensure a stable situation on the domestic fuel market.
Exceptions are provided for fuel in technological tanks used by aircraft in transit, batches of aviation kerosene placed under customs procedures before the decree came into force, and deliveries under intergovernmental agreements.
Earlier, a state of emergency was declared after a drone attack in Matveyev Kurgan, Rostov region, which reportedly occurred on the night of May 31. According to media reports, the attack caused a large fire at a fuel storage facility, covering an area of about 3,600 square meters. Additionally, 17 residential buildings, three shops, a pharmacy, and a car were damaged.
