Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. A Russian Il-114-300 aircraft has arrived in Bukhara to confirm its operational capability in extreme heat conditions, with temperatures currently around 40 degrees Celsius. The test results will help expand the permissible operating conditions for the aircraft.

The aircraft made a non-stop flight from Zhukovsky near Moscow to Bukhara. The flight took just over five hours, covering a distance of more than 2,600 kilometers.

The Bukhara region was chosen for the tests because it experiences dry and hot weather in summer. Currently, the air temperature reaches about 40 degrees, and forecasters expect up to 41 degrees in the coming days. Specialists will check how the aircraft performs at high temperatures.

This is only part of the test program. Later, the Il-114-300 is planned to be tested for takeoffs and landings on unpaved runways, i.e., without prepared airfields. The aircraft must also demonstrate its ability to perform approaches under Category II of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which is important for operations in adverse weather conditions.

After completion, the test results will be submitted to the Russian Aviation Register to amend the type certificate.

Currently, the Il-114-300 is officially approved for operation at air temperatures from -9 to +25 degrees Celsius. After the tests, the operating range will be expanded.
