Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. Customs officers at Koltsovo Airport in Yekaterinburg, Russia, discovered 121 knives in the luggage of two passengers arriving from Uzbekistan. Some of the knives were classified as cold weapons, while the rest were deemed household items.

According to reports, the two men were passing through the "green" corridor after arriving on a flight from Uzbekistan when Koltsovo customs officers stopped them for a baggage check. In one passenger's backpack, 62 knives were found, and another 59 were discovered in the bags of the second passenger. The total weight of the batch was 23.5 kilograms. All knives were decorated with ornaments but lacked markings. The men explained they were carrying them as gifts.

An examination determined that the knives were handmade copies of Uzbek "pchaks". Most of the items were not recognized as cold weapons and were classified as household items. However, 15 knives were classified by experts as cold weapons.

Two administrative cases have been opened against the passengers under the article for failure to declare goods. The violators face fines, and the items may be confiscated.

Russian customs reminds that for the import or export of cold weapons, a conclusion from Rosgvardiya and mandatory declaration are required. Earlier, Samara customs officers stopped a minibus traveling from Uzbekistan to the Moscow region in transit through Kazakhstan and found over a hundred rare birds in it.
