Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly signed a decree transferring the Russian assets of the French flooring manufacturer Tarkett under external management. According to the official document published in mid-October, the company's shares have been handed over to the control of a firm designated as "Centr Capital," marking another escalation in asset seizures amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Media reports citing the text of the decree indicate that the measures also affect shares belonging to the Tarkett joint-stock company registered in Bačka Palanka, Serbia. Furthermore, the sweeping decree introduces temporary state-backed management for 100 percent stakes and shares of several other foreign-linked enterprises, including "Kappa Rus," "Onteks RU," "Eviosis Packaging Kuban," and "Mensen Packaging CIS," creating fresh uncertainty for foreign investors remaining in the country.

Analysts and news agencies such as Reuters suggest that these aggressive moves serve as a retaliatory campaign targeting major Western companies that chose to maintain operations despite sweeping international sanctions. Industry observers do not rule out that foreign banking institutions operating locally, such as UniCredit and Raiffeisen, could potentially face similar external intervention measures in the future, though no definitive decisions have been officially confirmed yet.
