Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has outlined his vision for future relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan following the signing and ratification of a prospective peace treaty. According to his claims, the delimitation and demarcation of the border based on the Alma-Ata Declaration should supposedly result in an Armenian territory totaling precisely 29,743 square kilometers.

Pashinyan argued that neither enclaves nor exclaves should remain on either side of the border, suggesting that the two states must undertake a territorial exchange on a reciprocal basis. Furthermore, he voiced support for unblocking all transport routes and communications, which allegedly entails establishing transit routes through Azerbaijani territory connecting parts of Armenia, and vice versa through Armenian territory for Azerbaijan.

As an additional mandatory condition, the prime minister stated that Yerevan and Baku must completely renounce any mutual claims, mentioning both the logic surrounding Karabakh and other historical concepts. While the feasibility of such sweeping arrangements remains questionable, Pashinyan claimed that following communications with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Turkmenistan, he supposedly gained the initial impression that such an opportunity actually exists.

The parties had previously coordinated a section of the border, and their foreign ministries published a draft peace treaty; however, official authorities in Baku have not yet responded to Pashinyan's latest assertions.
