Authorities in Tashkent have taken decisive action following a serious incident in the Yashnabad district on the night of March 30. After a collision between a Malibu and a Leapmotor car, it was discovered that the driver of the unregistered Malibu was under the influence of alcohol. When road patrol service officers arrived at the scene to document the incident, the driver, identified as B.P., actively resisted, refused to undergo a breathalyzer test, and assaulted one of the officers.

Information circulating on social media indicated that during the incident, the driver was accompanied by his brother, who held a responsible position in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Videos show the driver resisting officers' attempts to enter his vehicle, while his brother did not intervene. The driver was later subdued using special measures to prevent harm to other officers.

The detained driver later admitted that alcohol consumption led to his aggressive behavior and apologized, stating, “Because I drank, my hand rose. I regret my actions a thousand times. I apologize to the internal affairs officers. This incident will not happen again. The law is inexorable, and here we are to answer for it.”

The Yashnabad district prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case against the driver under Part 2 of Article 219 of the Criminal Code (Resistance to a representative of authority) and subparagraph “e” of Part 3 of Article 277 (Resistance to an officer taking measures to prevent an offense). A preventive measure of detention has been applied to the 36-year-old B.P.

The appellate instance of the Tashkent City Court reviewed the decision of the Yashnabad District Court on April 3 and upheld it without changes, dismissing the appeal filed by the defendant's lawyer. This ruling is final. Concurrently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a critical meeting regarding the incident at the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Syrdarya region.

During the meeting, chaired by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Diyorbek Sattarov, the involvement of the driver's brother – Lieutenant Colonel Sherzod Pardayev – was sharply criticized for abusing official authority and using his position for personal gain. As a result, Pardayev was dismissed from his position. The ministry emphasized that relentless measures will continue to be taken against any employee who violates service discipline.
