The Main Directorate of Internal Affairs (GUVD) of the capital has prepared a detailed report on an incident where a citizen assaulted a patrol officer, resulting in the dismissal of his brother, a lieutenant colonel. The event occurred on the night of March 30 in the Yashnabad district, involving a driver under the influence of alcohol who ran a red light and caused a traffic accident.
Patrol officer Sardorbek Khamroyev of the Yashnabad district police department stated that upon arriving at Musavvir Street in response to a call, they encountered an intoxicated citizen who refused to comply with lawful demands and insulted the officers. Khamroyev said, "He struck me in the jaw. Then, using a special device—a stun gun—we neutralized the citizen and took him to the station." Footage circulated on social media shows the driver elbowing an officer in the face, with a man identified as his brother attempting to intervene in the situation.
The 36-year-old driver, Bobur Pardayev, expressed profound remorse for his actions, emphasizing the damage to his brother's reputation. He stated, "Because I drank, we argued. Then road patrol officers arrived, and a conflict arose between us. In a drunken state, I raised my hand. I regret what I did a thousand times, I ask for forgiveness. I apologize to everyone… If I had caused a traffic accident, others could have been harmed because of me. I undermined the reputation of my brother, who worked in the authorities for so many years. Alcohol is to blame for everything. This will not happen again. I repent." A criminal case has been initiated against Pardayev for failing to comply with the lawful demands of internal affairs officers.
As a consequence of the incident, his brother—a senior officer in the Syrdarya regional police department, Lieutenant Colonel Sherzod Pardayev—was relieved of his position by ministerial order for attempting to interfere in the situation. This case highlights the serious repercussions of defying law enforcement authorities and underscores the importance of upholding legal order in society.
