According to the Ministry of Energy, as of April 1, 2026, Uzbekistan had installed small-capacity solar panels on 145,738 facilities with a total capacity of 2,114 MW. This marks a significant increase from 141,200 facilities and 1,971 MW as of December 2025.

In the first quarter of 2026, these panels generated 411 million kWh of electricity, up 63% from 252 million kWh in the same period of 2025. This saved 125 million cubic meters of natural gas and prevented 134,000 tons of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

The generated electricity is equivalent to the three-month consumption of approximately 685,000 households. Additionally, the volume of surplus energy fed into the grid by households and businesses reached 163.7 million kWh, 3.5 times more than the 46.2 million kWh in Q1 2025.

In 2025, Uzbekistan's total electricity production reached 86.7 billion kWh, of which 16.8 billion kWh came from renewable sources. Solar and wind power generation increased 2.1-fold, saving 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas and preventing 4.7 million tons of harmful emissions.

In 2025, 45,300 individuals received subsidies totaling 209.2 billion soums from the state budget for solar energy fed into the grid. A total of 268,700 subsidies were processed. The highest payments were made to residents of Khorezm, Karakalpakstan, and Bukhara. Earlier, it was reported that over 900,000 street lights are planned to be equipped with solar panels.
