President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has inspected the cultural and service facilities built in the scientific-educational and tourist complex 'Burkhanuddin Margilani' in Margilan. The complex, covering 35 hectares, includes a hotel, caravanserai, crafts center, national bazaar, and museum.

Efforts to maximize the tourism potential of the Fergana region are yielding results: the number of foreign tourists visiting the area has increased several times in recent years. Margilan holds significant potential in this regard.

The complex was established under a presidential decree dated April 1, 2025. It was built on the 'city within a city' principle, blending national architectural traditions, the history of Margilan, and modern tourism infrastructure.

The master plan for the project, worth 1.7 trillion soums, was developed by the Turkish company 'Studio Vertebra'. The complex will be built in two phases. Future plans include a business center, a mosque with a capacity of 1,500, additional hotels, 400 retail and service outlets, and an eastern bazaar with 300 stalls.

Once fully operational, the complex is expected to attract 200,000–250,000 foreign tourists annually, create 2,000 jobs, generate 52 billion soums in budget revenues, and provide $30 million in service exports.

The experience gained from this complex is planned to be applied to projects such as 'Eternal Bukhara' in Bukhara, the development of infrastructure around the Imam Maturidi mausoleum in Samarkand, the Urda in Kokand, the architectural monument of Akhsikent in Namangan, and the old city part of Tashkent.
