A fatal accident occurred on the railway in Tashkent. On April 25 at approximately 02:00, a freight train struck a 22-year-old man on the stretch between the Jalayir and Sergeli stations.
The train driver spotted the person on the tracks and applied emergency braking, but due to the train's large mass and inertia, a collision could not be avoided. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.
According to the railway crossing attendant, the emergency stop occurred several hundred meters from the post immediately after a report of a person on the rails. Law enforcement and emergency services promptly arrived at the scene.
The Tashkent Transport Prosecutor's Office is conducting a pre-investigation check into the incident. Investigators are working to determine why the man was on the railway tracks at night and are also checking information about his possible intoxication.
