In Tashkent, customs officers together with representatives of relevant services conducted a special operation, detaining the owner of a jewelry store while selling gold bars worth hundreds of millions of soums. Over 300 grams of precious metal were seized.

According to the press service of the Capital Customs Committee, the citizen was caught in the act of selling three gold bars to a conditional buyer. The transaction was valued at $10,600.

Subsequently, law enforcement officers searched the man's jewelry store, where they found two more gold bars weighing a total of 201 grams.

In total, five gold bars weighing 334 grams were seized during the operation. Their estimated value is about 502 million soums. All items have been documented as physical evidence and confiscated in accordance with the established procedure.

A pre-investigation check is underway regarding this incident.

Earlier, illegal trade in precious metals was stopped in Namangan region and Tashkent.
