A major collapse occurred at a construction site in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, resulting in the deaths of three construction workers and injuries to five others. The incident took place around 2:30 PM local time, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The collapse involved a section of a multi-story building under construction, where workers were reportedly engaged in concrete pouring. Rescue teams and ambulances arrived promptly at the scene, managing to pull two workers alive from the rubble, while the bodies of the three deceased were later recovered.

Authorities have established a special commission to investigate the causes of the collapse. Preliminary findings suggest possible violations of safety regulations and deficiencies in the project documentation as contributing factors.

The construction company's management expressed deep condolences and pledged financial assistance to the families of the victims. An investigation is ongoing, and those found responsible are expected to face legal consequences.

This tragedy highlights ongoing safety concerns in Uzbekistan's construction sector, which has seen rapid growth in recent years. Experts are calling for stricter oversight and better protection of workers' rights to prevent such incidents in the future.
