The government of Uzbekistan has launched a comprehensive reform of the education system. At a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a plan of measures until 2025 was approved.
New curricula will be introduced, with a particular focus on mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The methodology for teaching foreign languages will also be improved.
A large-scale school construction program is being launched. More than 300 new schools are planned to be built by 2025. This is expected to improve the quality of education, especially in rural areas.
The system for improving teachers' qualifications will be revised. Annual certification will be introduced for each teacher, and salaries will be differentiated based on results.
According to experts, these reforms could have a long-term positive impact, but implementation may face challenges such as insufficient budget funds.
