️ A criminal court in Tashkent's Yashnabad district has closed the case between Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and economist Otabek Bakirov. The proceedings were terminated due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

️ The case resumed in late April this year after the minister filed a complaint over critical posts on Bakirov's Telegram channel. The disputed posts, published in December 2024, addressed issues such as long queues at methane filling stations and systemic power outages in the Tashkent region.

️ Although the Tashkent police department refused to initiate a case in January 2026, the city prosecutor's office overturned that decision in March, sending the materials for a new review. Bakirov himself noted that the energy sector problems he criticized a year and a half ago remain unresolved.

️ While experts had predicted the case would be dropped due to the statute of limitations, legal observers argue that a more logical conclusion would have been a ruling that no offense was committed. Human rights activist Abdurakhman Tashanov wrote that this would have provided a final legal assessment of the blogger's actions, rather than relying on a formal time limit.
