Nazar Eshonqul was born on June 15, 1962, in the Kamashi district of the Kashkadarya region. After finishing high school, he entered the journalism faculty of Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek) in 1981. He pursued postgraduate studies from 1986 to 1991.
The writer worked for the newspaper 'Yozuvchi' and the magazine 'Jahon Adabiyoti'. From 1994 to 1997, he served as a consultant on creative issues at the Writers' Union. Between 2005 and 2015, he worked at the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, and from 2016, at 'Uzbektelefilm'.
His first work was the novella 'War People'. From 1991 to 2011, his books 'Momokushik', 'The Smell of Mint', 'The Sun Beyond the Horizon', 'The Man Leading a Monkey', 'You Can't Catch the Wind', and 'Peach Flower' were published. He also presented the novels 'Gorogli or the Water of Life', 'Forbidden Fruit', and 'Giryon'.
Based on Eshonqul's scripts, the TV series 'Intertwined Destinies' and 'Sisters', as well as the films 'Unknown Wrestler', 'Lola', 'Winter's Tale', 'Foundation', and 'Angel of Love' were produced. He also wrote the plays 'Shirak', 'Jaloliddin Manguberdi', and 'Sumbula'.
