The Tashkent City Court overturned a lower court's decision to fine the owner of Uzbelas Performance auto service in a case involving a chase and discrediting law enforcement officers. The man was sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention.

According to the press secretary of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, Aziz Abidov, the criminal division of the Tashkent City Court reviewed a cassation protest by the Mirzo-Ulugbek district prosecutor's office against the January 16, 2026 ruling. At that time, the district court held Asadbek Jumayev liable under an article for disseminating distorted photo and video materials leading to the discrediting of law enforcement officers and fined him 8.4 million soums.

The prosecutor's office deemed the punishment too lenient and appealed it. The city court upheld the protest, canceled the fine, and sentenced Jumayev to 10 days of administrative detention under the same article.

Previously, social media widely discussed a video showing two BMW cars with special signals on evading traffic police officers during a raid in central Tashkent. It was later revealed that the driver of one of them was the head of the Uzbelas detailing studio, who publicly boasted about receiving a "lenient punishment" for racing with traffic police officers.

It was also revealed that the opportunity to avoid detention was granted to Jumayev by the same judge whose controversial verdict in a case involving an accident with a Li L9 was deemed unfounded and overturned in mid-February.
