In Tashkent, prosecutors have appealed a court decision regarding Asadbek Jumayev, owner of the Uzbelas Performance auto service, who previously violated traffic rules and fled from traffic police officers. The incident sparked widespread public outcry.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office press service, on February 26, the Mirzo-Ulugbek district prosecutor filed a protest with the Tashkent City Court against a district court ruling from January 16. Jumayev was earlier found guilty of disseminating video materials discrediting law enforcement and fined 8.4 million soums.

The review was prompted by the circumstances of the offense itself. In the capital's center on Oybek Street, two BMW cars with activated special signals intentionally ignored traffic police demands and fled.

Later, one of the drivers, the Uzbelas auto service owner, voluntarily surrendered. Prosecutors believe the 'street racer's' actions require a more objective legal assessment.

Previously in Tashkent, a 16-year-old foreign car driver hit a traffic police officer. The Mirabad district prosecutor initiated a criminal case under charges of violating traffic safety or vehicle operation rules.
