️ The State Security Service reports that a judge of the Pastdargom District Court for Civil Cases was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of $300. The incident occurred during the review of a child support case, highlighting ongoing corruption issues within the judicial system.
️ According to the report, the district court had issued a ruling in 2022 ordering a responsible citizen to pay child support until the woman's child, born in 2022, reaches adulthood. However, the respondent appealed to the FIB Pastdargom District Court, requesting a review of the decision based on newly emerged circumstances.
️ The judge, upon receiving this appeal in his proceedings, canceled the 2022 court ruling on February 27 and scheduled a substantive review of the case for March 11. Additionally, he demanded $300 from the plaintiff in exchange for a favorable resolution of the case, which was documented as clear evidence of bribery.
️ Currently, the General Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case against the judge under Part 2, Clause "v" of Article 210 of the Criminal Code (Extortionate bribery), and investigative actions are underway. This case underscores the persistent challenges in combating corruption within the court system, revealing systemic vulnerabilities.
