Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a plan to provide income for 1.5 million women by 2026 during a ceremony marking International Women's Day. Over 25 trillion soums will be allocated for these goals, with 400,000 women to be engaged in business. This initiative aims to boost female employment and enhance economic participation, reflecting ongoing efforts to address gender disparities in the workforce.

Additionally, 166,000 women will be trained in modern professions and entrepreneurship, while another 100,000 will receive education in the IT sector. Concurrently, the "Income-Generating Woman" program will be launched to promote home-based entrepreneurship, with the support of leading entrepreneurs ensuring employment for 50,000 women in crafts, handicrafts, poultry farming, beekeeping, and gardening.

Under the "Hamroh" program, 1 trillion soums will be allocated to implement 3,000 women-led projects. According to the president, last year, 23.5 trillion soums in loans were provided to increase women's employment and involve them in entrepreneurship, resulting in over 425,000 women gaining jobs and starting businesses.

A notable example is Nargiza Bekmuratova from Yangiaryk District, who provided employment for 300 women in the textile sector, opened a second factory last year, and created an additional 100 new jobs. In 2025, she won the "Female Entrepreneur Creating the Most Jobs for Women" award at an international competition in Ankara, Turkey. President Mirziyoyev stated, "I consider such energetic young women as builders of the new Uzbekistan. I am ready to support them in any way possible."
