The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan and Bulgaria have agreed to launch a pilot project for the employment and professional training of Uzbek citizens in the transport and logistics sector. Agency head Behzod Musayev held a meeting with Petko Angelov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Chamber of Automobile Transport (CBRH), where they discussed the details of this cooperation.
The meeting addressed the organized employment of Uzbek citizens in Bulgaria, their training processes, and cooperation mechanisms with licensed private employment agencies. The Bulgarian side expressed a need for personnel in the transport-logistics sector, particularly mechanics and technical specialists working with diagnostic equipment and electronic systems.
According to the Bulgarian side, specialists who complete short adaptation courses can receive salaries of up to 2,500 euros per month, depending on their qualifications and position. The importance of preparing drivers in accordance with European Union requirements was also emphasized. Following the negotiations, the parties signed an agreement to develop practical cooperation, launch the pilot project, and organize special training courses.
This initiative is part of bilateral cooperation discussed during the meeting between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev in June 2025. That meeting also addressed the opening of a representative office of the Uzbek Migration Agency in Sofia and the launch of direct air travel between the two countries.
Concurrently, as part of Uzbekistan's integration into foreign labor markets, an agreement was previously signed with Qatar's Jusour company. Under this agreement, the country's vacancy database is open to Uzbeks, with candidates required to be aged 18-45 and have at least an A2 level of English proficiency. Applications are submitted through the Tawzeef platform, and selected candidates sign a tripartite contract.
