Prominent Uzbek singer Sardor Mamadaliev has been fined for driving without a seatbelt while recording a video discussing a copyright infringement case. In footage shared on social media, Mamadaliev was seen behind the wheel without a fastened seatbelt as he spoke about legal issues related to copyright violations, leading to administrative penalties for traffic rule breaches.
Based on the video evidence, an administrative protocol was filed against the singer for violating traffic regulations. Mamadaliev admitted to forgetting to fasten his seatbelt due to nervousness, stating he typically respects the law. He commented, "I got a bit nervous and forgot to fasten the seatbelt. I usually don't drive without it, I respect the laws. Now I'll fasten it even when angry."
Under Uzbek legislation, driving without a seatbelt incurs a fine equivalent to half of the basic calculated amount, currently set at 206,000 Uzbek soums. Exemptions are granted only to individuals with specific medical conditions who possess corresponding medical certificates.
This incident coincides with Mamadaliev's public statements about ongoing copyright disputes. In the video, he explained, "I had to go to court because of performing a couple of songs by Sherali Juraev. I had no intent, I just wanted to support the memory of the great performer, my mentor. But now I and about ten other performers have been summoned to the Ministry of Justice, and our case will be reviewed in court."
The case echoes previous reports by Kun.uz on celebrities being held accountable for traffic violations. Mamadaliev's fine serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to road safety rules, highlighting ongoing efforts to enforce traffic laws among public figures.
