President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan addressed the country's economy, announcing that GDP growth in the first quarter of 2024 reached 6.2%. He praised this figure as positive but simultaneously highlighted that issues such as inflation and unemployment still persist.

According to the president's statement, new initiatives to boost investments and exports have been launched, including measures to attract foreign companies and improve product quality. However, he added that these processes are progressing slowly and face numerous obstacles.

Mirziyoyev also noted that reforms in agriculture and industry are ongoing, but their effectiveness has not yet fully materialized. He warned citizens about economic difficulties and reminded them of the government's plans to strengthen social programs.

During the discussion, the president touched on Uzbekistan's role in regional cooperation, emphasizing opportunities for integration in this area. But he also stated that global economic uncertainty and political tensions could negatively impact foreign trade.
