Illegal construction work and tree felling have been stopped on Akkurgan Street in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The incident came to light after residents posted videos on social media complaining about the destruction of green spaces.

According to the inspection department of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, an entrepreneur began constructing a household service point at house 30-A without the necessary permits. It was established that the developer lacked an environmental assessment and permissions for laying asphalt and concrete coverings.

Local residents stated that the conflict over the site began last autumn when workers started cutting down trees. Following complaints from citizens, inspectors quickly arrived at the scene, which halted further work.

Currently, the entrepreneur has been issued an order to suspend construction. The green plantings on the site have been placed under control.
