Rumors circulating on social media in Uzbekistan suggesting that teachers could be dismissed for failing an extraordinary certification assessment have been officially refuted by the government. It was emphasized that any demands from school administrators or other officials to fire teachers based on certification results are completely contrary to the law.

According to an official statement from the ministry, under regulations approved by a Cabinet of Ministers decree on September 17, 2021, teachers who participate in an extraordinary certification and do not pass will not have their qualification category downgraded and will continue to receive salaries based on their current category. This provision is designed to safeguard teachers' rights and ensure stability in the education sector.

The authorities clarified that there are no legal grounds for terminating employment contracts with teachers in such cases. Dismissal is only permissible under specific circumstances, notably for teachers without higher education working in specialist positions who fail to pass mandatory certification. In these instances, contracts may be terminated according to established procedures, but employees retain the right to participate in the extraordinary certification twice consecutively.

The Ministry of Preschool and School Education announced that teachers whose rights are violated can seek assistance through hotlines and specialized bots. The confidentiality of those who report issues is guaranteed, providing a support mechanism to address grievances and protect educators from unjust practices.
