A new state program has been announced for the economic development of the Narpay, Kushrabat, Kattakurgan, and Pakhtachi districts, as well as the city of Kattakurgan in the Samarkand Region. Currently, these areas contribute only 10% to the regional industrial output, highlighting a significant imbalance in the country's economic landscape. To address this issue, a record-breaking allocation of 1.2 trillion sums has been designated, underscoring the government's comprehensive efforts to reduce regional disparities and stimulate growth in underdeveloped zones.

The bulk of the funding, 800 billion sums, will be channeled into building modern infrastructure to support industrial projects. The remaining 400 billion sums are earmarked for enhancing residents' living conditions, including road repairs, stable electricity and water supply, and renovation initiatives. Symbolizing these changes, the Ingichka settlement is set to be reconstructed according to the "New Uzbekistan" standards. Additionally, in Kattakurgan, the long-awaited reconstruction of the bridge over the Narpay Canal will commence, a structure that has operated without major upgrades for over 60 years.

Special focus is placed on the Kushrabat district, where 60 billion sums have been allocated to foster entrepreneurship. This initiative aims at a deep modernization of viticulture, with plans to establish 300 hectares of in-vitro plantations and 800 hectares of intensive vineyards this year. To boost productivity and local incomes, 3,500 hectares of existing crops will be converted to a trellis system, and residents from 18 mahallas will receive training in advanced agricultural techniques.

In the Kattakurgan district, the emphasis shifts to efficient land and machinery utilization. The repair of the "Boston-1" pumping station will enable irrigation for 1,000 hectares of farmland. Concurrently, local authorities have faced criticism for sluggishness, as 830 hectares of fertile land have remained idle at auctions for months, despite the urgent need to transfer them to the population under favorable terms to create new job opportunities.

A significant step toward improving the quality of life in the region involves a large-scale upgrade of public transport. Within this year, 500 modern electric buses will be delivered to the Samarkand Region, which is expected to significantly enhance inter-district connectivity and reduce environmental impact.

Previously, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to the Samarkand Region, launched major investment projects and the construction of new facilities, indicating that this program is part of a broader strategy for regional development and economic revitalization in Uzbekistan.
