According to the press service of JSC "Tashkent City Water Supply", extensive planned preventive and repair works will be carried out on the capital's major water supply networks from March 30 to May 13, as part of preparations for the 2026 spring season. This initiative is expected to result in interruptions in drinking water supply or reduced water pressure across various districts of the city on different dates, potentially causing temporary disruptions for residents.
Based on the schedule, the first temporary water supply suspensions will commence on March 30 in some neighborhoods of the Uchtepa and Shaykhantakhur districts. In subsequent phases, planned restrictions will also be implemented in the Yashnabad, Mirzo Ulugbek, Sergeli, Yakkasaray, Chilanzar, Almazar, Yunusabad, Bektemir, Mirabad, and Yangikhayot districts. While authorities claim these measures aim to enhance system stability and ensure comfort for the population, the long-term impacts and potential for unforeseen complications remain uncertain.
Special water tankers will be deployed to districts where water supply is temporarily suspended. For additional information, citizens can contact the Central Dispatch Service via the short number 1054 or through inter-district phone lines. Despite the stated goals of infrastructure modernization, such large-scale operations may lead to societal friction and economic costs, particularly if delays or unexpected issues arise during the implementation phase.
