Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. In January-February 2026, there was an increase in the number of Uzbek citizens traveling abroad for tourism purposes. According to the Statistics Agency, in the first two months of the year, 1,081,612 people made foreign trips. This is 49,300 people, or 4.8%, more than in the same period last year.
Despite the positive trend, a sharp slowdown in the growth rate of outbound tourism has been identified. For comparison: at the beginning of 2025, the figure was 1,032,200 people, which was 21.4% higher than the previous year's level. The current numbers indicate a stabilization of demand for foreign travel after last year's surge.
The leader among destinations traditionally remains Kyrgyzstan, visited by over 426,000 Uzbeks. The top three also include Tajikistan with 179,000 tourists and Kazakhstan, which received 166,000 compatriots. Notably, interest in Tajikistan slightly decreased compared to last year, while the flow to Kazakhstan showed growth.
Saudi Arabia made a significant leap, with over 115,000 people traveling there compared to 81,000 a year earlier. The number of trips to Russia also increased—from 48,000 to 62,000. Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Thailand were also among the popular destinations. An interesting change in the top ten was the appearance of China, which with a figure of almost 9,000 people displaced Vietnam from the ranking. Egypt closes the top 10, with interest in it cooling somewhat over the year.
