A digital management system is planned for implementation at the used car and auto parts market in the Sergeli district of Tashkent. This was announced by the press service of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan. The project is being carried out as part of an initiative to create a "Digital Automobile Market" system. Technical specifications for its implementation are currently being developed. Prospects for digitalization were discussed during a visit by committee representatives to the market.
Additionally, the creation of a situation center on the territory of the automobile market is planned, with the participation of employees from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, customs and tax authorities, as well as other agencies. Automation of control over vehicle entry and visitor access is envisaged, including the organization of a separate lane for vehicles without state license plates.
Among other measures are enhanced video surveillance, installation of fire safety alarm buttons, and improvement of control over VAT chains in the sale of imported auto parts. The initiative aims to increase security and reduce the shadow economy.
Previously, a special headquarters was established in the Sergeli district with the participation of law enforcement and regulatory agencies. It included 155 customs officers involved in crime prevention and identification of criminogenic factors. During meetings, entrepreneurs proposed revising the procedure for trading in foreign currency, creating a headquarters for business registration and legal consultations, and introducing a progressive taxation scale for individual entrepreneurs based on turnover. Furthermore, it is proposed to consider initial expenses when calculating the tax base for purchasing vehicles.
