In Uzbekistan, the cotton harvesting season is ongoing in the agricultural sector. According to state statistics data, harvesting work is currently ahead of schedule, raising expectations for a record yield by the end of the year. However, experts advise caution regarding these optimistic forecasts, as factors such as climate change and water resource issues still pose significant threats.

In recent years, the Uzbek government has implemented a series of reforms to modernize the cotton industry and diversify agriculture. As a result of these measures, cotton acreage has slightly decreased, but productivity has increased. Nonetheless, local farmers continue to rely on traditional methods, which could hinder sustainable development.

The volatility of cotton prices in international markets presents additional challenges for Uzbekistan's economy. The country is heavily dependent on cotton exports, leaving its revenues vulnerable to uncertainty. Economists emphasize that if Uzbekistan does not accelerate economic diversification, it may face long-term economic vulnerabilities.
