Uzbekistan's 2024 cotton harvest has achieved record-breaking figures in the country's history, highlighting the effectiveness of agricultural sector reforms. According to the State Statistics Committee, the yield reached approximately 3.5 million tons, marking an 8% increase compared to the previous year. This outcome reflects the positive impact of policies aimed at introducing modern technologies in cotton farming and supporting agricultural enterprises.

Government officials discussed measures to develop the cotton industry, including modernizing irrigation systems and expanding export opportunities. Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov stated, "This achievement is not just about numbers; it is proof of Uzbek agriculture reaching a new level." However, some experts pointed out that alongside the harvest growth, challenges persist, such as limited water resources and volatility in global market prices.

The rise in cotton production contributes significantly to the economy, as cotton is one of Uzbekistan's key export commodities. Statistical data shows that exports of cotton and its products grew by 15% in the first half of 2024. Simultaneously, the government is implementing projects focused on diversifying the cotton industry and producing additional high-value products, which enhances the country's economic independence.
