Law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan, including the State Security Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and customs committees, have jointly carried out a series of operational and preventive measures under the "Safe and Healthy Country" initiative to combat the illegal trafficking of narcotics and potent substances. These operations spanned several regions of the country simultaneously.
In Khorezm Region, in the city of Urgench, a local resident born in 1983 was detained. During a personal search, 5 grams of opium were found on him, but the main stockpile was stored in a rented apartment. There, officers seized 887 grams of opium and 71 grams of heroin. It was established that the detainee planned to sell a batch of "ajal ogusi" (a local term for a deadly drug mixture) delivered by accomplices from a neighboring state.
In Fergana District, during an inspection of the home of a local resident born in 1991, 2,800 units of the potent drug "Regapen" were discovered. The estimated value of the seized batch is 140 million Uzbek soums. The drugs were smuggled into the republic from Kyrgyzstan.
A similar case was recorded in Tashkent Region. A resident of Tashkent District born in 1996 and his acquaintance, a Kazakh citizen born in 1994, were detained while attempting to sell 300 ml of "Tropicamide" for $300 and 600,000 soums. The drug traffickers concealed the prohibited substances by placing them in bottles and packaging from ordinary medicines. During the search, capsules of "Pregabalin" were also found on them.
Criminal cases have been initiated for all three incidents, and investigations are underway. Representatives of the special services urge citizens to report such violations via the short number 1520, guaranteeing complete anonymity.
