In Tashkent, an inspection conducted in the Yunona neighborhood of Shaykhantakhur District revealed that 108 trees had been illegally transplanted. The investigation, carried out by the State Environmental Inspection of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change based on a complaint, found that trees were unlawfully placed in the area of a closed collector on Abu Ali ibn Sina Street.

Upon deeper examination of the trees' condition, it was discovered that 107 of them had completely withered. Specifically, 12 juniper trees (archa) and 95 Eldor spruces perished. This case exposed illegal actions that were carried out despite a prior application to the Tashkent City Ecology Main Department, which had been denied permission for the tree transplantation.

The damage caused to nature as a result of the violation was calculated based on the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution No. 464 dated November 22, 2022. According to the calculations, the damage amounted to 881 million 268 thousand soms. The document notes that during the period of a moratorium on cutting valuable trees and shrubs not included in the state forest fund, the damage amount is calculated with a doubling factor.

According to information from the ecology committee, documents collected regarding this case are being prepared for submission to law enforcement agencies. This indicates the implementation of strict measures to protect the urban environment.

Previously, it was also established that a farm in the Ohangaron District of Tashkent Region illegally cut down over 100 decorative trees and shrubs across an area of 11.5 hectares. Environmental inspectors reported that in that instance, damage to nature totaled 1.46 billion soms, with documents sent to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
