In Uzbekistan, members of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis have begun receiving funds to establish green zones across the country. Each deputy is allocated 412 million soum to create a green area and garden in their electoral district. This initiative is part of the national 'Yashil Makon' (Green Space) project, aimed at large-scale greening and improving environmental quality.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that expanding the participation of deputies and the public should accelerate the creation of new green territories and enhance the ecological state of urban environments. The project focuses on increasing green cover nationwide and addressing climate change impacts.

Funding for the 'My Garden' program has also been increased: from the previous 250 million soum to 400 million soum per project. For each green garden and public park, up to 1 hectare of land is planned to be allocated on sites chosen by residents and equipped with water supply. These steps are designed to meet the population's demand for green spaces.

Under the 'Yashil Makon' project, up to 200 million seedlings are planted annually, which has helped raise the greening level from 8% to 14.2%. The authorities aim to increase this figure to 30% by 2030. However, questions remain about the financial aspects and effectiveness of the project, as the process of creating green zones under deputy management may lack sufficient oversight.
