President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, while participating in a tree-planting event, highlighted that extensive greening efforts have been underway in the country in recent years. He noted that an average of 200 million saplings have been planted annually over the past five years, showcasing significant commitments to environmental sustainability and conservation.

During this period, hundreds of green gardens and public parks have been established across the republic on an area exceeding 2,000 hectares, along with forested zones organized across hundreds of thousands of hectares. Large-scale greening projects have also been implemented on the dried-up bed of the Aral Sea, marking a crucial step in addressing the region's ecological challenges.

According to newly set targets, by 2030, the overall greening level in the country is planned to reach 30 percent, with green space per capita increasing to 10 square meters. To achieve these goals, major greening projects will be launched in several regions, including the creation of a "green space" on 10,000 hectares in Surkhandarya region, a "green wall" in Syrdarya, and new forested areas across vast territories in Karakalpakstan, Navoi, Bukhara, and Khorezm regions.

The president also outlined tasks to establish botanical and dendrological gardens in the regions, expand public participation in the process, and set up "green" technical schools to train young specialists. He emphasized that every planted sapling not only protects nature but also contributes to creating a healthy environment for future generations, reflecting the government's dedication to sustainable development.
