In Yangiul district of Tashkent region, a large-scale illegal tree-cutting operation was uncovered during an environmental police raid, where a company was found to have felled and uprooted 121 trees using special machinery in the "Lazzat" neighborhood. This incident highlights significant challenges in environmental protection and regulatory enforcement in the area, raising concerns about the sustainability of natural resources amidst economic activities.

According to the Tashkent Regional Department of Ecology and Climate Change, the calculated environmental damage, based on current standards, exceeded 1.06 billion soums. This substantial financial loss underscores the severe impact of such irresponsible actions on the local ecosystem and calls into question the effectiveness of governmental oversight in preventing ecological violations.

The case materials have been forwarded to the prosecutor's office for legal assessment, which may lead to accountability measures against the responsible parties. Previously, in a similar incident in Samarkand, a violator was ordered to pay a hefty fine and plant ten times the number of trees destroyed, suggesting a need for stricter enforcement and preventive actions to deter future offenses.

The Yangiul case exposes weaknesses in the monitoring and protection of green spaces, sparking alarm among local residents and environmental advocates.
