Uzbekistan has announced the results of inspections in the pharmaceutical sector for the first quarter of 2026. Following investigations conducted by the State Pharmaceutical Activity Licensing and Pharmaceutical Inspection Department, licenses have been revoked from 23 pharmacies found to have committed serious violations of legislation.

The primary reasons for these stringent measures included instances of selling medicines without conformity certificates, distributing drugs that had not undergone state registration, and trading in counterfeit and substandard products. These violations pose significant risks to public health and safety.

The geographical scope of the identified infractions spanned several regions of the country. The highest number of cases were recorded in Samarkand Region and the city of Tashkent. Licenses were also withdrawn from entrepreneurs operating in Andijan, Bukhara, Surkhandarya, and Khorezm regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

In addition to the license revocations, regulatory authorities have entered the addresses of the closed outlets and data of their employees into a special register of violators. The regulator emphasized that oversight activities will continue on a scheduled basis, and lists of unscrupulous market participants will continue to be published in open sources to ensure public safety.
