In Uzbekistan, hundreds of performers have begun declaring their incomes through the Tax Committee's mobile application, Soliq. This service was specifically designed for individuals in the concert and entertainment industry, enabling artists to report their earnings quickly and without excessive bureaucracy. If needed, performers can delegate the submission of declarations to their managers.
According to the Tax Committee, as of April 13, 419 performers have submitted declarations for 2025. Their total declared income amounts to 2.3 billion Uzbek soums, with a taxable sum of 1.8 billion soums, and the calculated income tax stands at 219.6 million soums.
Most artists reported relatively modest incomes. For instance, in 145 declarations, income did not exceed 1 million soums, and in 222 cases, it was up to 10 million soums. Only a few declared higher earnings: for example, just two performers reported incomes of up to 90 million soums. The Tax Committee reminded that the calculated tax must be paid by June 1, 2026.
The system is integrated with the O‘zbekkonsert database, simplifying the process and enhancing transparency. Previously in Uzbekistan, with active citizen participation, discussions on a draft law for taxing performers concluded; all proposals will be thoroughly reviewed, and the refined draft will be submitted to higher authorities.
