Law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan's Syrdarya Region have disrupted corrupt activities within the judicial system. A judge from the regional court for economic cases is suspected of receiving an illegal monetary reward for issuing a ruling in favor of a commercial entity.

According to a spokesperson for the Supreme Court, the arrest was made during a special operational event. The investigation alleges that the court employee promised representatives of a limited liability company a favorable outcome in a case under his jurisdiction. The judge reportedly demanded $3,600 for his services and was apprehended red-handed during the transfer of the funds, with the money seized as material evidence.

The Supreme Court emphasized that this incident was uncovered as part of systematic efforts to cleanse the system of dishonest personnel. The authority continues to implement measures to combat corruption in judicial bodies, focusing particularly on preventing improper conduct by employees and identifying individuals who abuse their official positions for personal gain. Strict legal measures will be taken against the detained individual in accordance with the law.
