With the growth of Uzbekistan's digital market, local online platforms continue to hold a significant place in the country's media landscape. This topic was one of the key themes at the international Tashkent Marketing Forum 2026, held on February 14, 2026, which gathered dozens of marketing specialists.
In the Digital Marketing section, Valery Akhverdian, a representative of the advertising network Native Network, discussed the role of local resources. He noted that the segment of news and sports websites demonstrates stable traffic: among the leaders in visits are Kun.uz with about 8 million visits per month, Daryo.uz with approximately 7.5 million, and Gazeta.uz with around 4.5 million visits.
According to research data, local platforms reach about 17 million people. Among them, men are more numerous – roughly 64%, while women make up 36%. Almost the entire audience, about 93%, is located in Uzbekistan, meaning these are primarily local users. The most active age group is 25–34 years old, individuals who spend the most time online, reading, comparing, and making purchases.
User behavior also shows a high level of engagement: nearly all internet traffic comes from mobile devices – up to 90% of users access platforms via phones. Moreover, people do not just open a site and leave: typically, per visit, they view several pages, averaging from 3 to 9, indicating real engagement with content. Time-wise, it is also quite positive – some spend just a couple of minutes, while others stay up to 10–14 minutes, depending on interest. Importantly, the audience returns: more than half of users, approximately 52% to 68%, revisit the platforms within a day.
Uzbekistan's local online platforms possess several features that make them interesting for audience study: high trust levels, alignment with cultural context, and active user interaction with content. According to experts, the media outlet Kun.uz stands out not only for high traffic but also for audience trust. This is largely due to its established recognition: users are accustomed to its presentation, perceive it as a stable news source, and frequently return for information.
The growth of the digital market and high user activity indicate that local resources remain a crucial element of the country's information ecosystem.
