Uzbekistan Team Secures Third Place at World Cup Kickboxing Event in Bangkok

The national team of Uzbekistan clinched third place at the second World Cup of kickboxing organized by WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations), held from April 7 to 12 in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The tournament attracted over a thousand participants from 34 countries worldwide, establishing itself as one of the major events on the international sports stage.

Uzbek kickboxers secured a total of 72 medals, including 36 gold, 22 silver, and 14 bronze awards. This performance enabled the team to achieve an honorable third place in the overall team standings. The first place was taken by the host nation, Thailand, the second by Vietnam, and the fourth by representatives from Kazakhstan.

This success further highlights the development of kickboxing in Uzbekistan and its competitiveness on the global scene. The scale of the event and the number of participants underscored the sport's international significance.

Recently, a representative from Uzbekistan won a bronze medal at the WT Taekwondo World Championships for youth, indicating the country's ongoing achievements across various martial arts disciplines.
