The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan has announced the start of a mortgage subsidy program for teachers, with applications set to be accepted from April 20 at 14:00. This initiative aims to provide state support to educators in addressing housing challenges, though it comes with stringent eligibility criteria that may limit its reach.
Under the program, the government will cover 25% of the initial down payment on a mortgage loan, provided applicants meet specific conditions. However, only teachers with the highest qualification category and at least 15 years of experience are eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants must satisfy social criteria, such as not owning two or more residential properties in Uzbekistan, either personally or through their spouse.
Participation requires that the applicant's credit history aligns with the internal requirements of one of the 15 banks involved in the program. It is also mandatory to grant permission for the use of personal data in the OneID system for credit history verification; failure to do so will result in application rejection. Documents can be submitted through public service centers, the MyGov mobile app, or the my.gov.uz portal.
