Uzbekistan is expanding its presence in one of the largest markets in South Asia – Pakistan. Following negotiations with Pakistan's phytosanitary service, the Uzbek side has obtained permission to export four in-demand products: apples, lemons, figs, and chili peppers.
Entry into the Pakistani market opens new prospects for domestic producers: from increased export shipments to strengthening trade and economic ties between the countries. Experts note that such steps contribute not only to boosting export volumes but also to promoting Uzbek agricultural products on the international stage.
The agreements were reached during the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission held in Islamabad. The negotiations involved representatives of the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection, who play a key role in opening new markets for exports.
To date, the number of Uzbek goods approved for export to Pakistan has reached 29.
Simultaneously, the countries plan to intensify cooperation in the agricultural sector. In particular, new logistical solutions and supply formats are being discussed, which could significantly increase mutual trade in agricultural products.
