The Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has revoked the license of the private employment agency NPS Personal, which was involved in placing citizens in jobs abroad. This action, taken based on the agency's own application, highlights ongoing efforts by Uzbek authorities to tighten oversight in the labor migration sector, amid concerns over regulatory compliance and citizen protection in international employment markets.

According to the agency's statement, the license issued to NPS Personal on December 15, 2023, was annulled on April 13, 2026, following a request from the company itself. While specific reasons for the revocation were not disclosed, this move may reflect underlying operational issues or a voluntary decision to cease activities, raising questions about the stability and reliability of private employment agencies in Uzbekistan's growing labor migration industry.

The Migration Agency announced that complaints and inquiries related to NPS Personal's operations will be accepted until April 30, 2026, via the phone number (+998) 71 202 33 55. This measure aims to address potential grievances from affected citizens but also underscores the challenges and risks associated with labor migration services, where regulatory gaps and consumer dissatisfaction can emerge.

Currently, there are 51 licensed private employment agencies operating in Uzbekistan, with a significant concentration in Tashkent—36 companies. Samarkand hosts 7 agencies, and Bukhara has 3, indicating a regional disparity in access to such services that could impact equitable opportunities for citizens seeking employment abroad.

Since the beginning of 2026, 10 new companies have obtained licenses, including three in April. This growth in the number of agencies points to an expanding labor migration market, yet the revocation of NPS Personal's license serves as a cautionary note about the need for robust supervision and the potential pitfalls in this sector, such as ensuring transparency and effective governance.
