In Tashkent, a new deputy mayor — head of the Main Department of Housing and Communal Services — has been appointed, with 39-year-old Obijon Muminov taking on the role. This appointment was made by the capital's khokimiyat and is aimed at developing the city's communal services, though it may face challenges related to existing infrastructure issues and resource constraints.

Obijon Muminov was born in the Navoi region. He graduated from the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute in 2013 and completed a master's degree at the Higher School of Public Administration of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation in 2024. His educational background focuses on enhancing his qualifications in public administration.

Prior to this appointment, Muminov served as head of a relevant department in the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan. He oversaw issues related to the management and operation of multi-apartment housing stock, as well as the generalization of renovation projects. His previous experience could be beneficial in addressing communal problems in Tashkent.

In his new position, Muminov will be responsible for developing the capital's housing and communal services system, including modernizing infrastructure and improving the quality of utility services. This task is intended to enhance living conditions for the city's residents, but difficulties are anticipated due to current challenges and limited resources.
