According to the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, 728 singers and performers with licenses for concert and entertainment activities who earned income in 2025 have submitted tax declarations. This figure includes only licensed artists, reflecting efforts by the authorities to strengthen regulation and taxation processes in this sector.
The total declared annual income amounted to 4 billion 694.9 million Uzbek soums, with taxable income reaching 3 billion 728.7 million soums. Based on this, 437.1 million soums in personal income tax were assessed. These numbers illustrate the scale of economic activity among artists and a portion of tax revenues flowing into the state budget.
Artists were categorized into rating groups based on income amount, with 643 individuals (the majority) falling into the 3rd rating group, indicating the lowest level of declared income. This distribution highlights income inequality within the industry and suggests that most performers earn relatively modest sums, raising questions about their economic conditions.
Previous reports indicated a sharp decline in taxes paid by singers, which, when compared to the current declaration data, necessitates further analysis of changes in the sector and the effectiveness of tax policies. This trend underscores the variable nature of taxpayers in Uzbekistan's cultural sector and the government's push for income monitoring.
