The Uzbekistan national hockey team has achieved a perfect record in Group B of the World Championship in Hong Kong, securing promotion to Group A of the third division. In the decisive match, the team defeated the host nation with a score of 9:4, cementing their first-place position in the group.

On their path to promotion, the Uzbek hockey players secured decisive victories over Mongolia (26:1), the Philippines (28:3), the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (20:3), and Luxembourg (14:0). The team scored a total of 97 goals, setting a new scoring record in Group B of the third division.

This success continues the rapid progress of the national team. In 2024, at a tournament in Yerevan, the Uzbekistan team won the fourth division—the lowest level of the world championship—and has been steadily climbing the ranks ever since.

The core of the team consists of players from Tashkent clubs "Humo" and "Binokor." Also featured in the lineup is forward Pavel Sinyavsky, who represents the Russian club "Molot-Prikamye." The team is led by Normunds Sejeys, a specialist who previously served as general manager of Riga "Dinamo" in the Kontinental Hockey League.

In the next season, in Group A of the third division of the World Championship, the Uzbekistan team will face off against teams from Taiwan, Mexico, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Africa, and Thailand.
