President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev left for the Fergana region on Monday morning for a two-day working visit, according to the presidential press service.

During the trip, the head of state will review development projects in districts and cities, as well as in industry, agriculture, transport infrastructure, and tourism. He is also expected to hold talks with local officials on pressing issues and prospects for the region.

A meeting dedicated to the priority tasks of socio-economic development of the Fergana region is planned as part of the visit. The meeting will discuss the region's economic indicators, investment projects, and employment issues.

The Fergana region is one of the most densely populated and economically significant areas of Uzbekistan. Despite recent reforms in industry and agriculture, infrastructure and transport system challenges remain unresolved.
